​Phil Kawesch MA, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker with over 35 years of experience as a psychotherapist.

He has both a Master's degree in Sociology from the University of North Carolina and a Master's degree in Social Work from Hunter College School of Social Work.

He obtained 6 years of additional training at the Metropolitan Community for Psychotherapy.

​After working in the public sector he opened his own center for psychotherapy called Counseling & Psychotherapy of Throggs Neck, where they provided service to over 17,000 Bronx residents.

His patients have taught him that for therapy to be successful it depends upon a collaboration of therapist & patient. The therapist brings his training and experience along with compassion and understanding. The patient brings in his or her experience dealing with their life and history.
